Meet Travis, one of Price Electric’s People You Can Rely On.
As the Branch Manager in Fort Myers, Travis oversees recruiting, hiring, and training, as well as performance management, coaching, and team development. He leads business development efforts while managing financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and overall branch profitability. Travis also ensures accurate billing, proper documentation, and compliance with company standards.
Outside of work, Travis enjoys golfing with his wife and friends, spending time at the beach, attending car races, and fishing. He also takes an annual trip to Canada to relax and recharge. Whether it’s on the golf course, out on the water, or just enjoying good weather with neighbors, Travis values time outdoors.
Could you tell us about a project at Price Electric that stands out to you? What made it memorable?
I’ve been fortunate to work on many projects I’m proud of, but one that stands out is the Cedar Rapids Schools administration building and bus barn on Edgewood Road. It was one of my first large-scale leadership roles and came with plenty of challenges. Despite that, we met every deadline and delivered a successful project.
What is the best vacation you’ve had and why?
Some of my favorite vacations have been sailing in the British Virgin Islands with Jeremy and Kristin Price. It was a completely secluded experience for about a week. My trips to Canada are also high on the list. I really value time when I can disconnect from my phone and recharge.
Which Price Electric Core Value do you relate to the most?
Work Hard, Play Hard. If you know me, you know that’s my core value.
I believe in giving 100% at work, taking pride in what we accomplish, and celebrating those wins together. Building relationships outside of work matters too—since we spend so much time working, it’s important to enjoy the time away from it. That said, I believe all of our core values are important in helping grow the business and retain both clients and employees.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Dishonesty. I always try to be honest because the truth comes out eventually. Once trust is broken, it’s very hard to earn back.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Working with people—getting to know them and watching them grow within the company.
Even though the job can be stressful, helping a customer solve a problem or completing a project brings a strong sense of pride. I enjoy pointing out projects our team has completed because it reminds me of what we’ve accomplished together.
What has been your biggest challenge at Price Electric?
Opening the Florida branch after Hurricane Ian.
Tell us three things most people don’t know about you.
- I had major hip surgeries starting at age 14, with pins placed in both hips, which ended my ability to play sports early.
- My wife and I have a small chihuahua named Ruby. Since we travel often, we stick to one dog; it’s just easier to manage.
- I tend to keep my personal life private. I can be loud and outgoing in public, but I’m more selective about what I share and with whom.
What motivates you?
I’ve always wanted to be successful, but I have a strong fear of failure. When I was given the opportunity to move to Fort Myers, I was determined not to let the company—or myself—down.
I believe that if you work hard and stay honest, good things will come. That mindset keeps me moving forward.
What would you say to someone considering a career at Price Electric?
Go for it. It’s a great company that genuinely tries to create a supportive, family-like atmosphere. There’s a real opportunity to grow here if you’re willing to put in the work. I’ve been here 26 years, and it’s been a great place for me.
What has been one of your proudest moments at Price Electric?
Being named Employee of the Year was a big honor. Helping launch the Des Moines branch was also memorable.
But my proudest moment was taking the leap to move to Florida, earning the company’s trust, and helping establish a new branch here.

What is your favorite place to eat?
At home, grilling. I love cooking everything from steak and chicken to smoking ribs, pork butt, and brisket. My favorite is smoked prime rib, especially for holidays or when hosting family and neighbors.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
Every day is different. I usually start by reviewing emails and addressing any immediate customer or employee needs. From there, I look at upcoming bids, ongoing projects, and financials to ensure everything is on track.
I try to visit job sites when I can and spend a good portion of the day in meetings, coordinating with customers and the team.
Have you been promoted while working at Price Electric?
Yes. I started as an apprentice and worked my way through roles including Lead Electrician, Estimator, Superintendent, Service Manager, and Project Manager. I now serve as Branch Manager in Fort Myers.
Have you received any awards or special recognition?
I was honored to be named Employee of the Year in 2017.
