Meet Dan Weekly, one of Price Electric’s People You Can Rely On. Dan Weekly is Price Electric’s Safety Officer.

Dan’s job is to “ensure everyone has the necessary knowledge, equipment, and motivation to stay safe on the job and hold others accountable for their safety.”

One of Dan’s proudest moments was when Price Electric received the National Safety Excellence Award from ABC National. It was an acknowledgment that Price Electric was doing things right.

Another proud event was Dan receiving the MBI Safety Professional Award, affirming his outstanding safety leadership. Dan is happiest when he is spending time with his wife and children.

Which Price Electric Core Value do you identify with most and why?

I’ve been in several positions at Price Electric and have seen all the growth.

However, innovative Thinking is the core value that stands out the most for me. Without Innovative Thinking, this company wouldn’t be what it is and what it has the potential to be. We’ve produced some of the finest projects because we’ve been able to come together and “figure it out.”

 What has been your favorite project at Price Electric, and why?

“My favorite project was the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital Generator project because of the diversity of the project and the amount of team effort that went into completing it.

Another favorite was the Dupont Capital Expansion project at Genencor International, where I learned how to be an influential construction safety person.”

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I’m a massive fan of my Gilson snow blower. I even have a Gilson tattoo. My favorite hobby is making Gilson snow blower videos which I post on Facebook and TikTok.

 If you could do another job for a day (outside of construction), what would it be?

I’d be a farmer.

Have you been promoted while working at Price Electric?

I’ve gone from a part-time apprentice to a journeyman to a foreperson for a short time, and then I was promoted to Safety Officer. As Safety Officer, I’ve filled roles and responsibilities regarding recruiting, marketing, operations, and construction management.

What are three words to describe Price Electric?

What is something on your bucket list?

I want to go to Barcelona, Spain. I’d love to see the art and architecture there, specifically the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia cathedral.

Have you won any awards or recognition or completed special classes or training?

I have received the MBI Safety Professional award personally. In addition, I’ve presided over programs recognized with the ABC National Safety Excellence Award, multiple Excellence in Construction Awards, EHS Today – America’s Safest Companies Award, and ABC STEP Gold, Diamond, and Platinum certifications.  I

am also a board-certified Associate Safety Professional.
