Meet Chase Emanuel, one of Price Electric’s People You Can Rely On. She is a journeyman electrician, but her current job title is Safety Coordinator. Some of her responsibilities involve visiting job sites in the Central Iowa area and doing site safety visits, including the accompanying paperwork. Chase ensures our crews have the proper PPE they need for any job site they’re doing. She writes safety plans specific to job sites. When Chase isn’t at work, she enjoys hanging out with friends and spending quality time with her significant other at home.
What has been your favorite project at Price Electric, and why?
I don’t have a specific project that’s been my favorite. I like being able to see all of them. We’ve recently started doing some water towers in the Central Iowa area. Although I’m terrified of heights, I got to climb a water tower (with the proper PPE), and the view was amazing. I also got to go down to Florida and look at the work being done after the damage caused by Hurricane Ian. That was quite the experience. I’m glad I could travel as Safety Coordinator with Price Electric.
What was the best vacation you have had?
I just recently went on my very first vacation with my boyfriend. We went to Cancun, and it was amazing. We got to drink mango mojitos and mango daiquiris by the pool. We were there for five days. It was so much fun. We were right on the beach.
What Price Electric core value do you identify with most?
“Rely on Us” is the core value I identify with the most. I’ve seen how we show customers and even other trades that they can rely on us to get things done. An “I scratch your back, you scratch mine” mentality benefits job sites. It’s not every trade for themselves on a site. It’s a group effort to make sure things move smoothly.
What do you like most about Price Electric?
My favorite part of my job is traveling to different job sites and seeing Price Electric’s work. I love meeting the other crews working at any given time and making them aware that we’re (the Safety Department) always here to discuss anything on their minds. I like the flexibility and change of scenery while going to job sites to being in the office. I like the fact that Price Electric will let you try something to see if it works. It feels very inclusive at Price Electric.
What are three things that most people don’t know about you?
- I don’t eat meat. It’s prevalent for people in the trades to notice this quickly. There are always grill outs, deer meat, and more. I started being a vegetarian seven years ago.
- I am 27 years old. Some people think that I look younger. I get checked for my ID a lot.
- I like to do hands-on things. I enjoy taking things apart and putting them back together again. I want to figure out how they work.
What is one of your proudest moments while being employed at Price Electric?
Some of my proudest moments working at Price Electric are when something I’ve come up with gets utilized. For example, a well-thought-out idea in the field as an Electrician or a Safety Professional. It makes me proud to know that my ideas are valued.
What was the first big concert that you attended?
I visited Omaha to see Queen with Adam Lambert as the lead singer. Freddy Mercury is no longer. He does Freddy Mercury justice; that’s for sure! It was amazing. As soon as they came on stage and started, I had tears in my eyes. That’s one of my favorite bands, so I was happy to see them.
Describe Price Electric in 3 words.

In what ways have you had opportunities to grow your career and achieve success at Price Electric?
I started as an apprentice in the fall of 2018. Over the years, I’ve successfully gotten my Residential License, ran the residential section in Des Moines for a time, got promoted to safety, and finally got my journeyman class A license. I have a lot to thank for the upper management that worked directly with me to get me to where I am currently. I’ve completed the OSHA 30 course, which is 30 hours of OSHA training. I’m Lead Safe Certified and have a Journeyman Class A license.
What is on your bucket list?
I want to travel to all fifty states. I want to travel everywhere, but the fifty states are my biggest wish. I want to experience every state.
What advice would you give to someone considering a profession at Price Electric?
Don’t be intimidated. Being a woman going into the electrical field can be scary. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
