The Centralized Emergency Power Generator Facility located at the University of Iowa’s Stead Family Children’s Hospital is a large-scale generation facility that provides emergency backup power to the hospital. The facility houses three 2-megawatt generators, each weighing 40,000 pounds, which distribute power throughout the hospital from over a mile away. In case of a power outage, power is restored within just 10 seconds.

Price Electric was honored with the Project of the Year award and the National Excellence in Construction Award of Excellence for its excellent work on the project.
