Nick is a Journeyman Electrician and job site lead. His typical day involves leading 3-4 small crews on job sites. He lays out the projects and tasks for them, answers any questions, plans for their tasks to ensure they have the tools and materials needed to complete their jobs, works with the general contractor and engineers to ensure proper installation of the electrical systems, and assists with workforce planning.
Which Price Electric Core Value do you identify with most and why?
The core value that I identify most with is Pursuing Lasting Relationships because of the people we work with, both employees and customers. Being part of the reason customers keep coming back to Price helps me feel very satisfied with my work.
What has been your favorite project at Price Electric, and why?
My favorite project so far was working on the Intel plant in Albuquerque. This job allowed me to work while enjoying a vacation on my days off and meet some new friends, all while making good money. Learning how processor chips are made and how important our systems were in the process was fascinating.

What is the best thing about your job?
The best part of my job is seeing buildings go from the ground up and participating in that process. I also enjoy seeing the wide variety of electrical equipment and how it can be used in different industries. I like the people I work with; they’re great guys who feel like family. Price Electric has opened a lot of other opportunities for me. I’ve been able to travel to Iowa, Minnesota, Arizona, New York, and Texas for jobs.
What was the first big concert that you attended?
I saw Motley Crue and Alice Cooper in Des Moines.
Do you have a favorite quote, personal mantra, or motto?
Show me a guy who enjoys his job, and I’ll show you a guy who doesn’t have to work a day in his life.
What is something on your bucket list?
I want to visit every National Park in the United States.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?
I like to do lawn work, dabble in woodworking, build small furniture, watch the Hawkeyes, travel, and spend time with my family, girlfriend, and daughter.
Have you won any awards or recognition or completed special classes or training?
I completed my apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Electrician. I was a runner-up and was selected based on merit to compete at the ABC State Craft Championships for industrial/commercial electricians.
What has been one of your proudest moments working at Price Electric?
My proudest moment at Price Electric was helping with recovery after the derecho. I liked being able to assist in the best way I could to improve our customers’ hardship, and seeing how thankful they were for our help meant a lot to me. It was great seeing how well our team came together to help regardless of their situation and how tired they were.
