The Iowa DOT Tower Terrace Improvements Project, undertaken by Price Electric, was a prestigious utility project we were honored to participate in. This project included the installation of signals and lighting for the I-380 Tower Terrace Ramp Signals & Lighting Project, which features a unique Diverging Diamond Intersection (DDI). This type of intersection is relatively uncommon in Iowa, with only a few currently existing. The DDI design allows for safer left turns onto the interstate by switching traffic to the left side of the roadway while crossing over.

By utilizing a diverging diamond interchange on Tower Terrace, the Iowa DOT has chosen an option that takes up less land and proves safer than traditional interchanges. National studies have shown that diverging diamond interchanges can reduce crashes by 37% and fatal and injury crashes by 54%.

In addition to adding signals and lighting, Price Electric was responsible for installing two signals, twenty-six streetlights, and all electrical components required for this project. A roundabout has been constructed at the Center Point Road and Tower Terrace intersection as an added enhancement. Our team is proud to have contributed to these significant infrastructure developments within our local community.
