Meet Dean Panos, one of Price Electric’s People You Can Rely On.

He is a seasoned professional in the electrical industry with over 21 years of experience. As one of Price Electric’s dependable team members, Dean holds the position of Residential Foreman.

In this role, he conducts thorough walkthroughs with homeowners and general contractors, efficiently coordinates project material orders, synchronizes schedules with builders and project managers alike, provides apprenticeship training, ensures projects are completed within or below budget constraints, and prioritizes customer satisfaction as his utmost priority.

Following in his grandfather’s footsteps as an electrician in Little Turkey, IA, during the fifties and sixties, Dean has inherited a passion for electrical work. It is worth noting that Dean follows in the footsteps of his electrician grandfather from the fifties and sixties, who specialized in agricultural and residential electrical work in Little Turkey, IA.

What has been your favorite project at Price Electric, and why?

One of my most memorable experiences at Price Electric was when I had the opportunity to contribute to the Jack M. Logan Middle School project in Waterloo. As a relatively new employee, I had the chance to learn and work alongside some incredible individuals.

During this project, I gained valuable knowledge and experience in running (EMT) conduit, a new work type for me. The combination of learning something new and collaborating with talented professionals made this project an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Where is your hometown?

 I grew up in Swisher, Iowa. I reside in Mt. Vernon on a four-acre property with my wife, daughter, and

two dogs.

Do you have a nickname at work?

Some of my coworkers refer to me as Deano.

What do you like most about Price Electric?

One of the highlights of being part of the Price Electric team is the opportunity to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of individuals, including customers, homeowners, and colleagues.

Building lasting relationships with homeowners is particularly gratifying as it allows for meaningful connections that can endure over time.

When we consistently deliver exceptional work for homeowners, positive feedback spreads and brings more opportunities our way.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not at work?

 I enjoy DIY projects and fixing things around the house when I have free time outside work. Spending time outdoors is also important to me, particularly during the summer and fall. One of my favorite activities is working on the yard and landscaping. We gather on our patio for cozy fire nights on Friday and enjoy drinks together.

Camping is another activity we love, especially in various locations across Eastern Iowa. Our top choice is Lake Darling due to its expansive lake. It holds a special memory as my daughter caught her biggest fish there during our camping trip last year.

Name three things that most people don’t know about you.

  1.  As a resident of a hobby farm, I have experience raising chickens and goats, and my wife has horses.
  2. I enjoy watching old scary movies from the 1940s to the 1960s. Unlike modern films that can be predictable and uninspiring, these originals captivate me.
  3. During my time in high school, I actively participated in soccer.

In what ways have you had opportunities to grow your career and achieve success at Price Electric?

At Price Electric, you will have numerous chances to advance your skills and achieve success. Over my fifteen years with the company, I have attended various leadership sessions that have helped shape my professional growth. Additionally, completing training programs like Dale Carnegie’s “Lead to Accelerate Growth” has further augmented my abilities. I have also participated in multiple Drug Awareness and CPR classes to ensure safety and preparedness.

What was the best vacation you have had?

My unforgettable honeymoon in Aruba was the best vacation I’ve ever had. It was filled with exciting excursions like horseback riding, a jeep tour, and snorkeling adventures. We enjoyed spending time on the beach. The food was excellent as we stayed at an all-inclusive resort. The tropical environment appeals to me.

What is on your bucket list?

One of the main goals on my bucket list is to retire early and take numerous vacations, including visiting Bora Bora.

What are your proudest moments working at Price Electric?

Among my proudest accomplishments at Price Electric is receiving positive feedback from customers who consider us the best subcontractor they’ve ever worked with.

What Price Electric core value do you identify with most?

The Price Electric core value I identify with most is “Work Hard and Play Hard.” As an individual, I’ve always been committed to being diligent and hardworking. Within Price Electric, I consistently strive to give my all and expand my knowledge while supporting other areas within our company. On weekends, however, I play hard.

What is your favorite meal?

My wife’s chicken and noodles is one of my favorite meals, a recipe passed down to her by her mother.

What advice would you give to someone considering a profession at Price Electric?

At Price Electric, you’ll be presented with excellent growth opportunities. The demand for electricians is always high, guaranteeing plenty of hands-on work experience that will be invaluable to your professional development.
