It was her first project, and she modeled a lot of the architecture and the electrical. “Innovative Thinking” is Elsa’s favorite Price Electric core value because she likes a challenge, she likes to problem solve, and create the best, most effective product and outcome in the field.
What is the best part of your job?
I’ve always like computers and drawing and making things look nice. My job combines them all. I love working with Revit, problem solving, and making different project sheets look nice and organized.
Did anyone in your family influence your career choice?
Dan Johnson influenced my career choice. He’s my uncle and a current Price Electric employee. He always shared information about his job to me and my cousins and told us that they need people in this field. He encouraged us saying, “you should learn this!”
What advice do you have for someone considering a career with Price Electric in 5 words of less?
Be willing to learn. Try to have a trouble shooting type of mindset.
Where is the best place that you have traveled to?
In 2019, my family and I went to Florida for 2 weeks. We went to the aquarium and swam with sharks. That was fun! We rented a house right next to the beach and it had a swimming pool. I hung out with my family and swam all week, it was awesome.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like playing video games, drawing people, and playing instruments. I have a keyboard, electronic drum set, bass guitar and a ukulele. I also enjoy studying the Bible and sharing as a volunteer minister as one of Jehovah’s Witness. Learning on the job at Price Electric has given me skills I use as a volunteer, building projects.
What are somethings about you that would surprise us?
I’m learning Japanese and would like to travel to Japan. My dad, Josh Lewis worked at Price Electric at one time, he was an electrician.
What has been one of your proudest moments working at Price Electric?
There have been a lot of times where I’ve been proud of what I’ve done because things seem hard at first. It’s always a nice feeling when I’ve learned or accomplished something completely new. One proud moment that comes to mind is when I created my first Revit family. Revit families are basically like a template for items you can place in a 3D model. For example, when placing a panel, you don’t have to design, draw, and place in information for the whole panel. We have an already existing family, or template, that has the base shape in there, and then all we edit or change the parameters and information. So, when I made a new family, it was unlike anything I had done in Revit. I was very proud of myself when I had completed it.
What is the first big concert you went to?
I went with some friends to see Fall Out Boy with 21 Pilots.
Describe some of the work that you do at Price Electric.
I use programs (Revit, AutoCAD, and others) to 3D-Model, draft sheets and gather information that will be useful in the field or useful to compile before implementing it into the field. Some examples are modeling in panels and their information, transformers, conduit runs, or lights and other electrical features.
What is your favorite thing at Price Electric?
Everyone is nice and chill.
